Artist's Comments

This is an emulsion lift of [link] onto 140 pound watercolor paper.

This is a technique where you boil the image layer off of Polaroid type 669 film and transfer it to a different medium.

emulsion transfers/lifts are always awesome.

what type of film did you use?? polaroid 660, perhaps???
:iconkivienkathairon:
669 Film actually. I originally shot the picture with Kodak Elite Chrome 35mm slide film and projected it onto 690 film with my Vivitar Slide Printer because the image quality is alot better, but 690 film doesnt emulsion lift worth a shit. So I just made another print on 669 film and emulsion lifted it.

:iconpolasam:
what? how did you obtain the black border, mask the lens of the camera or something?
:iconkivienkathairon:
Masked off the slide. It is alot better with the black boarder than with all the other crap that was in the image.

WOW, that is some high-quality art you've just made.

Damn, you make me wish I had talent in the darkroom (I might, but my German impairs my art classes significantly)

That is the wonderful thing about Polaroid. You dont need a darkroom. Just take thr picture, boil it in water and then transfer the emulsion.
